During the short bilateral meeting between U.S. President, Barack Obama, and Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen, both leaders exchanged views on the issue of common concern. US raised the concerns over the situation of human rights in Cambodia. In response, Cambodia explained and clarified the issue. It was generally regarded as “tense” and straightforward conversation. However, It can be argued that the general trend of Cambodia-US bilateral relations has been positively developing. The visit of President Obama is historical and significant for Cambodia-U.S. relations.
