Prime Minister Hun Sen stated at the ASEAN Plus Three Summit that tourism was one of the elements of regional cooperation. It should be noted that tourism plays significant role in economic development in many countries in the region. The Plus Three (China, Japan and Korea) are the key sources of tourists coming to visit Southeast Asia. For Cambodia, tourism is the second largest income generator after textile industry.
In addition, the leaders agreed to deepen economic integration in the region especially in the field of financial cooperation. The leaders reaffirmed their political will and commitment to uphold peace and stability in the region in order to develop the economy. Cambodia appreciated the Plus Three countries in implementing the ASEAN Master Plan of Connectivity. ASEAN Plus Three Connectivity is essential.
